Nicolas Catena Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (0,75 L)

Catena Cabernet Sauvignon by Catena Zapata is a grape varietal, strong and smooth red wine from the Argentine wine region of Mendoza.

This wine appears in the glass in a bright ruby red. The nose presents aromas of intense cassis fruit as well as spicy, peppery notes. On the palate again opulent aromas of cassis and dark forest berries, underlined with nuances of eucalyptus. Fine spicy aromas of vanilla and cedar wood with filigree minerality complement the fruit aromas. Fine-grained and sweet tannins underline the complex body and are very well integrated into this Argentinian red wine. The finale comes with a pleasant length.

Vinification

As soon as the hand-picked grapes have arrived in the wine cellar, the grapes are first subjected to cold maceration for 3 days. Fermentation is then carried out in a stainless steel tank for a total of 20 days - the secondary fermentation is 20 to 23 days. Finally, this red wine is aged for 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels.

This dry red wine from Argentina goes wonderfully with veal roulade with a red wine sauce and spring onion butter.
