The Mouton Cadet Réserve Saint-Emilion by Baron Philippe de Rothschild shines vividly garnet red in the glass. On the nose, this French red wine opens a fresh, elegant and intense and powerful bouquet with dense aromas of blackberries, currants and cherries, sweetly pickled fruits and violets, in the background hints of soft spices and mocha.

On the palate, this Réserve Saint-Emilion presents itself balanced with round fruit and soft, balanced tannin, as one would expect from a Saint-Emilion. Long, gentle finish.

Vinification

In the Saint-Emilion region, the terroir  has two different zones depending on the soil conditions. On the one hand, loamy limestone soils can be found, on which the Merlot grape variety in particular develops well. On the other hand, you will find sandy, very pebble soils on which the Cabernet vines feel very comfortable. 88% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon are vinified for this wine. The Merlot gives the wine its impressive softness and fruit, Cabernet Franc Sauvignon gives it the structure and maturity potential. Maceration takes place at low temperatures before and after fermentation.

This fruity French red wine from the Saint-Émilion region in Bordeaux is a delightful treat with wild poultry, pink roasted duck breast, gently braised beef, rabbits in spicy sauce or bunny backs, porcini mushrooms, omelette or warm bruschetta with liver pie, or simply solo in a nice round with friends and family.
