Masi Costasera Amarone Classico 2018 (0,75 L)

This famous Amarone from Masi Agricola is a unique wine in terms of its historical grape varieties and its production!

In the glass, this cuvé presents itself with a very dark ruby red color. Intense fruity aromas of cherry and plum jam as well as fine spice notes rise in the nose. On the palate we taste the concentrated fruit of dried grapes with hints of coffee and cocoa, supported by a balanced structure. Soft, delicate tannins and a slight sweetness accompany the long and intense finish.

Vinification

At the end of September and the beginning of October, the best grapes are spread and dried on the traditional drying racks. By January, the grapes lose 35% of their weight. This was followed by a light pressing and subsequent fermentation of 45 days in large barrels of Slovenian oak. Now the wine matures for 24 months to 80% in barrels of Slovenian oak and 20% in small barrels of Allier and Slovenian oak, followed by a 4-month maturation on the bottle.

Food recommendation

This wine goes perfectly with quail, red meat, game and matured cheeses (Parmesan, Pecorino, Gorgonzola) and is also great for completing a meal.
