Colore is the highest expression of Bibi Graetz's dream. Colore aims to create a pure Tuscan excellence. A wine made from traditional Tuscan grapes from the region's oldest and rarest vineyards. Sangiovese provides the wine's structure and power, Colorino its fruit and velvety tannins, and Canaiolo its minerality and intensity.
Balocchi di Colore Nr.1 comes from the oldest Sangiovese vines of the Vincigliata vineyard, which have always been used as a component of Colore for their vibrant acidity and balsamic notes. With Balocchi di Colore N°1, Bibi likes to play with showing the character of Vincigliata's single vineyard, expressed through the Sangiovese grapes in the playful interaction of Colore's components. The wine radiates aromas of small red fruits and eucalyptus with a brilliant red color and fine, silky tannins.
Balocchi di Colore N°3 has an intense color, and velvety, soft tannins embrace the palate. It is a very grand wine with a wide range of structures, dominated by its power and intensity. This is the component that gave the first vintage of Colore its strong character in 2000.
For centuries, Canaiolo has been part of timeless Tuscan vineyards, providing color, acidity, and drinkability to Chianti wines. Balocchi di Colore N°8 is a 100% Canaiolo wine, with a unique character, full of red fruits, acids, and very intense red pepper notes. The terroir of parcel 8 gives impressive freshness to both Colore 2020 and the Canaiolo of Balocchi di Colore N°8. Olmo is of extraordinary significance, representing the future of the Bibi Graetz project, which is increasingly moving towards elegance.
