In 1976, Bollinger Vintage was named Grande Année. In 1997, it became La Grande Année - "The Great Year" - a name simple enough to illustrate its exceptional status.

Madame Bollinger agreed to a Bollinger Rosé on one condition: it had to be extraordinary. This is how La Grande Année Rosé was born: a wonderful blend of great vintage champagne and red wine from an exclusive terroir - the legendary Côte aux Enfants. This unique vineyard is among the few that contain extremely rare ungrafted vines, which produce more intense and flavorful grapes. The base wines were fermented and aged in oak barrels. The secondary aging took place for 7.5 years in bottles sealed with corks.
