Dal Cero is a family winery founded in 1934, with one foot in Veneto, another in Valpolicella, and a third a little further south in Tuscany, Cortona. The latter town is where the famous book and film "Under the Tuscan Sun" are set. The interesting thing about this estate is that it came into the family's possession in 1980, and at that time they started planting grape varieties (Syrah, Chardonnay) that caused consternation among local producers. However, today many – including big names – have followed their example.

From Tuscany, white wine is quite a rare genre, as winemakers there only plant white varieties for pleasure or to expand their selection. In the case of this wine, we can immediately taste an interesting, perhaps slightly surprising cuvée, as Vermentino is very rarely blended with Chardonnay. Its aroma is vibrant, tropical, with notes of orange and apricot. On the palate, it has fresh, crisp acidity, and the fruits from the aroma return in the taste, making it a lively, youthful wine.
