The winery, founded in 2004 by two businessmen, Stefano Caruso and Mario Minini, is located on 125 hectares around the city of Marsala, on the western tip of Sicily. Having given up their "civilian" professions, both are now dedicated to the affairs of the winery. Currently, the total owned cultivated area is 120 hectares, and they strive to plant these as high as possible (their average elevation is 450 meters above sea level), as otherwise, due to the island's hot climate, the harmony of the wines would often not be perfect. Nero d'Avola is the most widespread red grape on the island, and although it has been cultivated for a very long time, its wine perfectly suits 21st-century tastes: it yields a light, medium-bodied, spicy wine with aromas of berries, low in tannins, but with lively acidity. It has depth, yet it is ethereal. It pairs wonderfully with the dishes of popular Italian cuisine.
