Collazzi 2021 – Toscana I.G.T.
Collazzi is one of the finest examples of Tuscan winemaking elegance and precision – the estate's flagship wine, which worthily showcases the characteristics of the terroir and the winemaker's dedicated work.
Composition of the blend:
Cabernet Sauvignon 50%
Cabernet Franc 25%
Merlot 20%
Petit Verdot 5%
The varietals are harvested and fermented separately to preserve their individual character. The must ferments in steel tanks, followed by 18 days of skin contact to give the wine its depth and structure. This is followed by 18 months of aging in barrique barrels (50% new, 50% second-fill French oak) at a constant temperature of 15 °C in the winery's aging cellar. Bottle aging takes an additional 12 months before the wine is released to the market.
The wine has a deep ruby red color, with aromas of ripe dark berries, delicate spiciness, and elegant oak spices. On the palate, it has a silky texture, rich, precise structure, and a long, noble finish. A sophisticated, age-worthy red wine, excellent for special occasions and long-term aging alike.
