In Veneto (Northern Italy), the four towers of Corteforte were built in the 15th century at the strategically important point of the town of Osan in the Fumane Valley to predict the arrival of armies attacking Verona. Later, in the 17th century, the estate of Verona took possession of it. Today, only one bastion remains, which was renovated in the 80s and handed over to the local tourism center and the town's most famous winery, Corteforte.

After late harvesting, the grapes from the Osan vineyard are placed in a special drying chamber where they lose water and their content concentrates for four months. Gentle pressing of the resulting berries and fermentation produce a dense, concentrated wine, which is well balanced by lively acids appropriate to the regional characteristics. This is how the winery's and indeed the wine region's flagship wine is made.
