The new 2018 vintage has arrived from the red wine originally created for the 80th anniversary of the winery, which then became so popular that the limited 2014 series became a regular item. A truly impressive full-bodied red wine, showcasing the more mature side of Barbera. Both its aroma and taste are surprisingly fresh, the aromas simultaneously evoking ripe red and black berries, rum punch, vanilla, cocoa, and in the background, the leathery character typical of Piedmont, which develops over time, is subtly present. On the palate, alongside a medium '+' body, a lively and broad acid palette sustains the sip, with the fruits and cocoa known from the aroma also evident here. It has a rather long finish, in which delicate oriental spices and notes of bitter chocolate can be discovered. The tannins are velvety and distinctive. It's a great wine because it completely lacks the thick, cloying jamminess; instead, we get elegance with a touch of playfulness!
