The place where champagne was invented is Hautvilliers, a picturesque small town east of Paris. In the 17th century, there was a Benedictine abbey here, whose cellar master was a monk, Father Dom Pérignon. He was the first to use corks to seal wine bottles.

Every bottle of Dom Pérignon tells the story of a vintage. It can be challenging or unconventional, as 2013 was. In this vintage, harvested later than usual, ten years of aging on the lees brought about a slow transformation, revealing the inherent elegance of the vintage.

Thanks to Dom Pérignon's grand cru and premier cru vineyards on chalky soil, despite drought and dryness, perfectly ripe, full-bodied chardonnays from Côte des Blancs and pinot noirs with dynamic acidity from Montagne de Reims entered the cellar.
