Pecorino is not only a type of Italian cheese, but also one of Italy's indigenous white grape varieties, mostly grown in the wine regions of Abruzzo, Marche, Umbria, Liguria, and Tuscany. Orsogna Pecorino is part of the winery's "Lunaria" biodynamic wine family. The viticulture method used is the so-called "kunyhós indás" (hut-trellised) or Abruzzo pergola method, which is the farming method that best restores the natural vegetative development of the vine. In the "hut", on a horizontal wire roof, the vine grows harmoniously and naturally, and the leaves catch the wind and sun. It cannot be mechanized, so it is a cultivation method dependent on the skill and experience of the viticulturist/winemaker. Work in the vineyard and cellar is 100% biodynamic, certified by Demeter certification. Spontaneous fermentation of the wines is a fundamental condition for the wine to be vibrant and able to reflect the authentic flavors of the region.
