Located in the Marche region of eastern Italy, Umani Ronchi is currently one of the 18 largest and most famous Italian wine-making families, alongside producers such as Antinori, Zonin, Sassicaia, and Masi.
In 2024, the winery was awarded "Winery of the Year" by Gambero Rosso.

In addition to their nearly 200 hectares in the Marche region, nestled between the Apennines and the Adriatic coast, the successful family business also owns another 30 hectares of vineyards in Abruzzo. Their declared goal is to convincingly showcase the unique terroirs in their wines and to promote the local Verdicchio and Montepulciano grape varieties.
Umani Ronchi's precise and well-defined wine style combines modern and classic elements, respecting the traditions and characteristics of local grape varieties. Fruit is never overemphasized in their wines.

Casal de Serre Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico Superiore was one of the first truly "selected" Verdicchios made in the growing area of this variety. The wine was born in the early 1980s by selecting the best grapes grown in the Montecarotto vineyard, then enriched with grapes from three additional parcels in areas most suitable for growing Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. All the values of this wonderful indigenous variety are expressed in this wine. Contact with its own natural yeasts during fermentation and aging and 5 months of aging on fine lees give Casal di Serra Verdicchio its special richness and individuality without altering its delicate balance and special elegance. The aroma offers wild flowers and yellow-fleshed fruits (apricot, peach, and golden apple), while the taste is greeted by sophisticated elegance and luscious fruitiness. It is produced without malolactic fermentation, so its vibrant acidity makes it a wonderfully harmonious wine.
