Located in the Marche region of eastern Italy, Umani Ronchi is currently one of the 18 largest and most famous Italian winemaking families, alongside producers such as Antinori, Zonin, Sassicaia, and Masi. In 2024, the winery was awarded "Winery of the Year" by Gambero Rosso.
In addition to their nearly 200 hectares in the Marche region, between the Apennines and the Adriatic coast, the successful family business also owns another 30 hectares of vineyards in Abruzzo. Their stated goal is to convincingly showcase the specific terroirs in their wines and to promote the local Verdicchio and Montepulciano grape varieties. Umani Ronchi's precise and well-defined wine style combines modern and classical elements, respecting the traditions and characteristics of the local grape varieties. The fruit is never overemphasized in their wines. What ends up in the bottles is elegance and sophistication itself.
The Villa Bianchi Verdicchio takes its name from the rural villa of the same name, located in the heart of the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi growing area, which was once used by the Bianchi family as a press house for processing grapes from the surrounding vineyards. Today, the role of Villa Bianchi Verdicchio is to express all the characteristic features of the variety, especially the freshness and elegance of its aromas and flavors. The aroma is intense and finely structured, subtly fruity and floral. On the palate, we encounter vibrant acidity and distinctly refreshing notes, which are perfectly complemented by the variety's characteristic almond finish.
