Vajra - Barolo "Albe" 2020 (0,75 L)

The powerful album Barolo by G.D. Vajra shimmers into the glass with dense ruby red. The nose of this G.D. Vajra red wine presents all kinds of blackberries, blackcurrants, lavender, mulberries and blueberries. As if this were not already impressive, add gingerbread spice, vanilla and cocoa bean due to the ageing in the large wooden barrel.

The album Barolo by G.D. Vajra is just right for all wine enthusiasts who like as little residual sugar as possible in the wine. However, it never appears sparse or brittle, as you can expect with a wine. This velvety red wine is impressive and complex on the palate. The finale of this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, more precisely from Barolo DOCG, finally captivates with remarkable reverberation.

Vinification

The powerful Albe Barolo from Piedmont is based on grapes from the Nebbiolo grape variety. When they are perfectly matured, the grapes for the Albe Barolo are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape growers. After the hand-picking, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are selected and carefully ground. This is followed by fermentation in large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by ageing for 30 months in Slavonic oak barrels.

Food recommendation

This Italian red wine should best be enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It goes perfectly with potato pan with salmon, roasted veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
