Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin Blanc 2022 (0,75 L)

In the glass, the Chenin Blanc Family Reserve from Kleine Zalze presents a bright platinum-yellow color. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, you can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, because it stands out neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. In the glass, this white wine from Kleine Zalze presents aromas of pears, quince, pink grapefruit, lemons and limes, complemented by cigar box, Mediterranean herbs and garrigue. On the palate, Kleine Zalze's Chenin Blanc Family Reserve opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by an immensely creamy texture. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Chenin Blanc Family Reserve shows itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this white wine from the Coastal Region, more precisely from Stellenbosch, which is capable of maturing well, convinces with a remarkable reverberation.

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Chenin Blanc. Only the best grapes were used for this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Kleine Zalze. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by 12 months of maturation in oak barriques.

This South African wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to roast trout with ginger pear, omelette with salmon and fennel or fruity endive salad.
