The barrel-aged Chateau Odilon from the Bordeaux wine-growing region offers itself in the glass in bright purple. Held at a slight angle, the wine glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. After the first swirl, one can perceive a first-rate balance in this red wine, as it stands out on the walls of the glass neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. Vinification

The starting point for the premium and wonderfully balanced Chateau Odilon cuvée from Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) is Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Chateau Odilon is an Old World wine through and through, as this Frenchman exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Chateau Odilon are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of crude and less selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in French oak barrels.
