Domaine Laroche Chablis "St.Martin" 2020 (0,75 L)

The light-footed Saint Martin Chablis from Domaine Laroche glides into the glass with a brilliant golden yellow. If you swirl the wine glass, this white wine is characterized by a fascinating lightness that makes it dance nimbly in the glass. This single-varietal French wine flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of mirabelle plums, grapefruit, vineyard peach and lemons. This is joined by hints of roasted almond, walnut and roasted hazelnut.

This wine inspires by its elegantly dry taste picture. It was brought with only 0.9 grams of residual sugar on the bottle. Here it concerns a genuine quality wine which stands out clearly from simpler qualities and thus this Frenchman enchants naturally with finest balance with all dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by a tremendously buttery texture. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Saint Martin Chablis flatters the palate with a soft feeling without lacking freshness. The finale of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Burgundy, more precisely from Chablis & Grand Auxerrois, finally convinces with good reverberation.

Vinification

The basis for the elegant Saint Martin Chablis from Burgundy are grapes from the Chardonnay grape variety. The Saint Martin Chablis is an Old World wine through and through, because this Frenchman breathes an extraordinary European charm, which clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After the harvest, the grapes arrive swiftly at the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Saint Martin Chablis is left to mature on its fine lees for a few months.

Food recommendation

This French wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It goes perfectly with spinach gratin with almonds, potato pan with salmon or cabbage roulades.
