In the glass, the Clasico Seco from the house Codorníu presents a brilliant shimmering light yellow color. The bubbles of this sparkling wine present themselves consistently and finely in the glass. The nose of this sparkling wine from Catalonia seduces with notes of gooseberry and white currant. Just its fruity nature makes this wine so special.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry taste. It was brought with only 25 grams of residual sugar on the bottle. Here it concerns a genuine quality wine, which stands out clearly from simpler qualities and thus this Spaniard enchants naturally with finest balance despite all dryness. Taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. The Clasico Seco can justifiably be described as particularly fruity and velvety, as it was vinified with a pleasantly sweet taste profile. On the palate, the texture of this light-bodied cava is wonderfully light. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Clasico Seco flatters with a velvety mouthfeel without lacking freshness. The final of this Cava from the wine-growing region of Catalonia, more precisely from Penedès DO, finally convinces with a good reverberation.

Vinification

The elegant Clasico Seco from Spain is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Parellada, Viura and Xarel-lo. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. The fermentation of the base wines then takes place. After the composition of the final Cava follows the further development on basis of the Méthode Traditionelle, classical bottle fermentation. Afterwards the Codorníu Clasico Seco matures for 9 months in the bottle.

Food recommendation

Drink this Cava from Spain very well chilled at 5 - 7°C as an accompanying wine to vegetable salad with beetroot, pasta with sausage dumplings or roasted trout with ginger pear.
